Theory Lessons App Reviews

Add in modes

Great app, only thing I would suggest in an update is the addition of Greek Modes and different scale variations.

Audio Doesnt Work

I just downloaded this app onto my iPad Air 2, but audio controls are greyed out and unavailable.

Outstanding job! One tweak.

I am truly amazed by the quality of this app. Well worth the money. I have learned so much here and I feel as though I can really take music to the next level. I have one suggestion, however. It is tough to retain all of this knowledge without having a good way to practice some of these lessons. I understand that there is a sister app, Tenuto? I would be one hundred percent more satisfied if you released an update for this app or Tenuto that included exercises identifying chord progressions, practicing things like the more complicated triads and such; the vocabulary is very hard to retain despite how well the lessons were put together. Thank you for your hard work!

Amended - Audio doesnt work

Audio DOES work. Only available on some slides. Developer can stop negative reviews by making it more clear that audio isnt available on all slides. (Old Review: Installed on 6+. Audio grayed out. Whats the point if theres no audio?)

Excellent

Love this app. A cheap way to learn the fundamentals of music theory.

Woah

Gonna be honest this app, in addition to the website, taught me all the music theory I know and it was made so simple and easy. Thank you for making it easy for beginner musicians to learn this. I hope you guys add more stuff soon though.

Wow Just "WOW"

Never knew how easy it was to learn until I got this app. Everything is put plain as day in front of you and everything is there for you if you need to return and relearn anything. Easy and quick!!! Love this app! Music made easy!

Perfect.

A very, very good application.I am a music teacher and musician and recommend it to everybody. Thank you very much to the all team of musitheory.

Very good

And easy to handle

Brilliant !

Best Music-Theory Apps I know.

Awesome!!!

I highly recommend this app why? BECAUSE it is very in-depth yet it is easy to understand because of the flash animation...REALLY helpful plus the price for what you get is really good but try it for yourself and you be the judge

Fan

Ive used and referred others to musictheory.net for at least ten years, and the mobile app is even better. Extremely clear instruction, and I love the key calculation method that is presented. Highly recommended!

This app is seriously AMAZING. Ive been taking piano lessons since I was 5 (over 15 years) and Ive never used anything better for theory. It really helps you understand

Music

My teacher told me to get this. He taught a lesson right off the sight. This app has really helped me, especially with rest cause I always get mixed up.

so so...

Good points: Very easy to visualize. I like the design. Bad ones: Too basic and there are just few audio demonstrations.

Very informative.

This app is excellent for musicians. Without a doubt a must have for any musician.

can we get the wood app icon back? the red one is meh

Meh

Well laid out, easy to follow, and not worth the money. Why? Because of the Internet (cue gambino). I can find all this info for free. They did set everything out in a nice way. Well done app. Just make it free.

Best $3.49 Ive ever spent

Contrary to the person who wrote a review before me, Im more than happy to spend my $3 on your app. And even though all of this information is available for free online, wouldnt you say that about all the information you get in every course youve ever taken and paid thousands of dollars to attend? I think the knowledge this app has made accessible to me and countless others is well worth the money, if not more.

A small price to pay

I completely disagree with the guy who complained that the app should be free. Yes, you can find all sorts of info on the web, but developing an app takes time and "free" is unreasonable given the effort to compile such useful and complex info in a way that makes it easy for anyone to understand. Dont be fooled by the simplicity of this app. It includes advanced musical theories that I didnt see in a curriculum until the 3rd or 4th year. If it looks simple enough that reviewers can say "meh" speaks to to good work of the developers. Ill be using this to help illustrate musical concepts to my students.
